Dixon Happy To Claim Indy Pole
(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Scott Dixon says he is happy to be on the pole for the Indianapolis 500, but says that being up front at the start is more important.
Dixon won the pole Saturday with a four-lap average of 226.366 miles per hour after withdrawing an earlier time and re-qualifying.
Dixon's pole-winning run came immediately after Ryan Briscoe had withdrawn the time from his first qualifying run and bumped Dan Wheldon off the pole. Wheldon would make one more attempt at the pole, but wound up second to his Ganassi Racing teammate.
