Pacers Season Ends Tonight
(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indiana Pacers’ season comes to an end tonight when they host the New York Knicks.
The Pacers enter tonight's game having lost their last two. Monday's loss in Washington to the Wizards knocked the Pacers out of playoff contention.
Forward Danny Granger is averaging 34 points over the last three games. Another 30-point performance tonight will make Granger the first Pacer to record four-straight 30-plus point performances since Jermaine O'Neal three seasons ago.
The Pacers are 35-and-46 and need a win over the Knicks to surpass last season's win total. New York enters tonight's game with the second-worst record in the Eastern Conference at 23-and-58.
Former Pacers CEO Donnie Walsh took over as Knicks president two weeks ago and New York is coached by former Pacers coach Isiah Thomas.
Tonight's game could be Thomas' last at the helm of the Knicks. The former Indiana University star's job status has been the subject of many rumors this season. The rumors escalated when Walsh relieved Thomas of his duties as Knicks president at the start of the month.
An Indiana win tonight will give the Pacers their first season sweep of the Knicks in the 32-year history of the series.
