(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Pacers announced Wednesday that co-owner Herb Simon would assume the duties of chairman and chief executive officer of Pacers Sports and Entertainment.

Simon has largely been a "hands-off" owner in the 25 years he and brother Mel have owned the team. He will now have more control in the day-to-day operations of the organization.

The team also announced that Jim Morris will succeed Donnie Walsh as President of Pacers Sports and Entertainment. Morris will oversee business operations for the Pacers, the Indiana Fever and Conseco Fieldhouse.

Larry Bird will continue his duties as President of Basketball Operations.
