Hoosiers Close Big Ten Gap, Defeat Golden Gophers
(BLOOMINGTON) - Eric Gordon scored 20 points and D.J. White added 17 in his final game at Assembly Hall as the 17th-ranked Indiana Hoosiers defeated Minnesota 69-55.
Gordon did most of his damage from the free throw line, hitting 12 of his 14 attempts. Armon Bassett finished with eleven points and Jamarcus Ellis added ten points and 13 rebounds as the Hoosiers won their fourth in a row at home to move into a second place tie with Purdue in the Big Ten.
Lawrence McKenzie led the golden gophers with 22 points as Minnesota falls to 18-and-11, 8-and-9 in Big Ten play.
IU improves to 25-and-5, 14-and-3 in the conference as they trail first-place Wisconsin by a game with one game remaining.
The Badgers clinched a share of the Big Ten title with a 77-41 victory over Penn State on Wednesday and will win the regular-season championship outright with a win at Northwestern this weekend.
The Hoosiers close out the regular season on Sunday at Michigan.
