Despite Tough Road, Pacers Back In Playoff Race

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indiana Pacers find themselves in the hunt entering a key three-game road trip that begins Wednesday night in Houston.
The Pacers have won two-straight to move to within two and-a-half games of the eighth and final Eastern Conference playoff berth. Indiana had lost 13-of-16 before the back-to-back wins over Toronto and Milwaukee.
Mike Dunleavy keyed the two victories, tying his career-high with 36 points against the Raptors and then doing it again two nights later against the Bucks.
The wins have come without Jermaine O'Neal, Jamaal Tinsley and Shawne Williams in uniform. O'Neal and Tinsley continue to nurse knee injuries while Williams has been inactive since an acquaintance of his was arrested on a murder warrant outside Williams' home last Wednesday.
The road trip gets underway against the hottest team in the NBA in the Rockets. Despite losing all-star center Yao Ming for the season, the rockets have kept on winning. Houston has strung together a team-record-tying 15-straight wins.
The trip doesn't get any easier from there as the Pacers head on to San Antonio to face the defending NBA champion Spurs before winding up in Cleveland on Saturday to face the defending Eastern Conference champion Cavaliers.
