Bennett Says "No" To IU Job

(SPOKANE, WA) - Tony Bennett says he is not interested in becoming the men’s basketball coach at Indiana University.
The Spokane Spokesman-Review reported on its website Sunday that Bennett had an exploratory conversation with Indiana on Saturday night and that he would not pursue the IU job, preferring to stay at Washington State. Bennett denied an internet report saying he was offered the IU job.
Indiana is looking for a replacement for Kelvin Sampson, who resigned under pressure last month in the wake of an NCAA investigation. Assistant Coach Dan Dakich served as interim head coach for the remainder of the season with the Hoosiers going 3-and-4 and losing their NCAA tournament opener to Arkansas.
