IRL, Champ Car Announce Merger, More Details This Week

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The leaders of United States open wheel racing have decided to unify.
The deal between IRL and Champ Car would mean all future racing events will be sanctioned by the Indy Racing League under the IndyCar series umbrella.
Formal terms of the agreement haven't been officially announced. But a news conference is expected this week.
