Despite Flu, Danica Patrick Turns In Fastest Lap At Homestead Miami
(HOMESTEAD, FL) - Danica Patrick made up for missing Wednesday’s IndyCar series test session due to the flu by turning in the fast lap during Thursday’s practice at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Patrick lapped the mile-and-a-half oval at 213.182 miles per hour. Ryan Briscoe was also above 213 miles per hour with Dan Wheldon, AJ Foyt the fourth, Scott Dixon, Hideki Mutoh and Helio Castroneves turning in laps in the 212 mile per hour range.
Wheldon turned in the fastest lap of the two-day "spring training" at 213.312 on Wednesday night. All 16 car-driver combinations scheduled to participate were on the track last night.
