Colts' Efforts Little To Hold Back NFC Push At Pro Bowl
(HONOLULU, HI) - Five Indianapolis Colts participated in the annual NFL Pro Bowl Sunday in Honolulu, but were unable to help their AFC squad to a win.
Minnesota Vikings rookie running back Adrian Peterson made the most of his first Pro Bowl selection, rushing for 129 yards and two second half touchdowns in an MVP performance and Dallas receiver Terrell Owens caught a pair of touchdowns in the NFC's 42-30 win.
The AFC led 24-7 early in the second quarter before the NFC scored five touchdowns and held the AFC to only two field goals the rest of the way.
Colts quarterback Peyton Manning made his fourth straight start for the AFC, completing 11 of 16 attempts for 147 yards and a 16-yard touchdown to Cincinnati's T.J. Houshmandzadeh.
Colts receiver Reggie Wayne caught five balls for 55 yards and running back Joseph Addai gained 21 yards of offense on one carry and three catches in his first Pro Bowl appearance.
Also making his first appearance was safety Antwain Bethea, who made a game-high seven tackles. Bethea was originally an alternate, but made the Pro Bowl after another Colt, Bob Sanders, withdrew because of an injury.
Colts center Jeff Saturday also participated, making his third straight start in the game.
