Champ Car Owner Forsythe's Team Not Moving To IRL
(INDIANAPOLIS) - One team that will not be making the leap from the Champ Car World Series to the IndyCar series is Forsythe Racing.
The team released a statement Thursday saying that it would not compete in the IndyCar series due to a lack of sponsorship.
The team will run in Champ Car's final race at Long Beach on April 20th. Drivers for that race have not been named.
Team owner Gerald Forsythe was one of the owners of the Champ Car World Series, which was absorbed by the Indy Racing League last week.
Forsythe fielded cars for Paul Tracy and David Martinez last season.
It is the first team to fold in the wake of the unification of the two open-wheel series.
