Budget Expanded For Mackey Arena Project

(WEST LAFAYETTE) - Plans for an $82.35 million expansion and renovation of Purdue University’s Mackey Arena received a $5 million infusion Saturday.
With construction scheduled to begin next year, five $1 million private gifts were announced by university officials.
In May, the Purdue board of trustees authorized hiring an architect for the Mackey project. A detailed design with specifications and drawings ultimately will lead to a bidding proposal and more refined cost estimate. Bidding authorization will be sought from the trustees in September.
