Fever Announce 2008 Schedule
(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indiana Fever unveiled their 2008 WNBA schedule on Thursday.
The Fever will open the season on May 17th at home against Washington. The regular season ends on September 13th with the fever hosting the Phoenix Mercury.
There will be a one month hiatus from July 28th through August 27th to allow players to participate in the 2008 Olympic games in Beijing, China.
The announcement of the schedule comes one day after the fever announced that Lin Dunn would coach the team this season. Dunn replaces Brian Winters, whose contract was not renewed.
Winters coached Indiana for four seasons, leading the Fever to 21 wins and the playoffs in each of his final three seasons. The Fever were eliminated in the Eastern Conference finals by Detroit last season after losing all-star forward Tamika Catchings to a torn achilles tendon.
