Colts Clinch AFC And Bye Week With Win

(OAKLAND, CA) - The Indianapolis Colts clinched their fifth-straight AFC South title with a 21-14 win over the Oakland Raiders.

TJ Rushing put the Colts ahead 10-0 when he returned a punt 90 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter. The Colts had an opportunity to extend their lead to 17, but failed on a fourth-down attempt from the Oakland one when Ben Utecht could not hang onto a Peyton Manning pass.

The Raiders would drive 99 yards with Josh McCown hitting Ronald Curry from three yards out to pull Oakland to within three at 10-7 at halftime.

Another short field goal from Adam Vinatieri gave the Colts a 13-7 advantage but Oakland would take its only lead of the game early in the fourth when Justin Fargas scored on a two-yard touchdown run.

The Colts came back to take the lead for good when manning hit Anthony Gonzalez on a 20-yard scoring play. The two-point conversion made the final score Colts 21, Raiders 14.

Manning threw for 276 yards with a touchdown and an interception with Gonzalez catching eight passes for 86 yards and the winning score.

McCown threw for just 94 yards while number-one overall draft pick Jamarcus Russell completed two-of-five passes for ten yards. Fargas ran for 89 yards and a touchdown.

The Colts improve to 12-and-2 and will host the Houston Texans on Sunday. With Sunday's win, the Colts also wrapped up the number-two seed in the AFC and a bye in the first round of the playoffs.
