(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts have the day off and will begin getting ready for this Sunday’s game with the Kansas City Chiefs when they return to the practice field on Wednesday.

The Colts started the season with seven consecutive wins before suffering back-to-back losses to New England and San Diego. The Chiefs are 4-and-5 and have also lost two in a row.

KC Head Coach Herman Edwards announced Monday that Brodie Croyle will start at quarterback against the Colts, replacing Damon Huard.

Colts Head Coach Tony Dungy held his weekly news conference on Monday and said he did not know the extent of the team's injuries suffered in Sunday night's loss in San Diego.

Defensive end Dwight Freeney's foot injury is probably the most concerning. The three-time Pro Bowl participant reportedly had an MRI on his left foot Monday and the Colts are awaiting the results.

ESPN reports that the Colts claimed veteran defensive end Simeon Rice off waivers from Denver Monday as an insurance policy should Freeney need to miss significant time.

Offensive linemen Charlie Johnson and Ryan Diem and defensive tackle Keyunta Dawson also left Sunday's game with injuries.
