(MUNCIE, IN) - The Butler Bulldogs and the Ball State Cardinals kick off their regular seasons tonight at Worthen Arena in Muncie.

The Bulldogs are coming off a season in which they made the Sweet-16 of the NCAA Tournament, falling to eventual National Champion Florida.

The NCAA run cost the Bulldogs head coach Todd Lickliter, who replaced Steve Alford at Iowa. Brad Stevens was promoted from assistant to head coach last spring.

The Cardinals also have a new head coach following the departure of Ronny Thompson after one season. Billy Taylor replaces Thompson after spending five years as the head coach at Lehigh.
