Jones Not Released From ND Scholarship

(SOUTH BEND, IN) - Notre Dame Athletic Director Kevin White says the school will not release Demetrius Jones from his scholarship this season.
Jones started the opener against Georgia Tech but was replaced later in the game. Jones left the team last Friday and says he is transferring to Northern Illinois.
The refusal to release Jones from his scholarship does not mean that Jones cannot play for the Huskies next season, but it does mean he will have to pay his own way.
Notre Dame Coach Charlie Weis says he was not involved in the decision not to release Jones from his scholarship.
