(WEST LAFAYETTE) - New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is donating two-million dollars to Purdue for an expansion of the student-athlete academic center.

Brees led Purdue to the 2000 Rose Bowl as a Senior. Assistant Athletic Director Tom Schott says Brees and Purdue have been talking most of the year about how to direct a donation.

The academic center provides a haven for Purdue's 450 athletes to study or meet with tutors.

It'll double in size and be named after Brees and his wife Brittany.
