Fever Take Game One In Finals

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Fever recorded a huge victory in game one of the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday by topping the Detroit Shock 75-65.
Over 9,000 fans made their way to Conseco Fieldhouse to watch the Fever defeat the defending champions behind 22 points from Tamika Catchings.
Tamika Whitmore added 18 and both Tammy Sutton-Brown and Anna DeForge scored 11 points for Indiana, as they take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series. Plenette Pierson, recently named Sixth Woman of the Year by the WNBA, led the Shock with 19 points.
The Fever were clearly the aggressors in this game, making more free throws (26) than the Shock attempted (17).
Game two will take place on Sunday afternoon at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
