Pacers Hoping For Lottery Miracle

(SECAUCUS, NJ) - The Indiana Pacers could get a boost for their offseason rebuilding at tonight’s NBA draft lottery - but don’t count on it.

The Pacers are currently eleventh in the draft order, which does not help them as the Atlanta Hawks own Indiana's pick provided the pick is not in the top ten.

The blue-and-gold gave up the conditional draft choice in the deal that brought Al Harrington back to Indiana from the Hawks last summer. Harrington was traded to the Golden State Warriors in January as part of the Stephen Jackson deal.

The Pacers' only hope of getting a first-round selection in June's draft is to land one of the top three choices at tonight's lottery.

The lottery is weighted in such a way that the Pacers have just over a one-percent chance of landing one of the top three picks.

It is the first time the Pacers have been in the lottery since 1997 when they took providence college forward Austin Croshere with the twelfth-overall pick.
