(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts have retained one of their restricted free agents, but may lose another.

The Indianapolis Star reports that starting guard Jake Scott is expected to sign a one-year, 1.3-million dollar tender to stay with the Super Bowl champions.

Scott is entering his fourth season with the Colts and started all 16 regular-season games and all four postseason games for the team in 2006.

Meanwhile, starting cornerback Jason David has received a four-year offer sheet from the New Orleans Saints according to NFL.com. The Colts have seven days from when they receive the offer sheet to either match the offer or lose David to the Saints.

If they don't match the offer sheet, the Colts would receive a fourth-round pick in next weekend's NFL Draft from the Saints as compensation.

Losing David would be another blow to a defense that has already lost the other starting corner, Nick Harper, to Tennessee via free agency.

Three other key players from the Colts defense - linebacker Cato June, defensive tackle Montae Reagor and safety Mike Doss - have also signed with other teams.
