Pacers Lose Nine Straight On The Road
(SAN ANTONIO, TX) - Tim Duncan scored 27 points as the San Antonio Spurs had little trouble defeating the Indiana Pacers 90-72.
The Pacers led by five at the end of the first quarter and extended their advantage to nine early in the second, but the spurs proceeded to go on a 21-to-3 run to put the game away.
During San Antonio's big run, Pacers point guard Jamaal Tinsley was ejected for throwing a basketball into the stands.
Francisco Elson added 14 points for the Spurs, who snapped a two-game losing streak. Ike Diogu led Indiana with 14 points with Mike Dunleavy adding eleven. Jermaine O'Neal played 26 minutes despite aggravating an injury to his left knee Tuesday night in Houston, finishing with ten points.
The Pacers have lost nine straight on the road and fall to 30-and-37. They are in a three-way tie with New York and Orlando for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. New Jersey is just a half-game ahead in seventh place.
The Pacers return home for three games beginning with the defending champion Miami Heat on Friday night.
