Indycar Season Begins This Weekend
(HOMESTEAD, FL) - The Indycar season gets underway this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
The cars will hit the track for two practice sessions this afternoon with qualifying tonight and the race on Saturday night.
Defending Indy 500 winner Sam Hornish Junior is the defending series champion. Dan Wheldon, the 2005 Indy winner, tied Hornish in points last season but lost the championship due to Hornish having more wins in 2006.
One offseason move of note is 2005 Indianapolis and series Rookie Of The Year Danica Patrick moving to Andretti Green Racing after spending two seasons with Rahal-Letterman Racing.
