Former Player Now Head Coach At Evansville

(EVANSVILLE, IN) - The University of Evansville has named Marty Simmons as their new men’s basketball coach.
The 42-year-old Simmons has spent the past five seasons as head coach at SIU Edwardsville, going 88-and-59 with the division-two Cougars.
Simmons played at Evansville after transferring from Indiana and also spent ten seasons as an assistant with the Purple Aces.
He replaces Steve Merfeld, who resigned after posting a 54-and-91 record over five seasons.
