Super Bowl, Super Audience
(MIAMI, FLORIDA) - The Super Bowl is always one of the most watched TV programs of the year.
This year, a projected audience of over 140 million in the U.S. alone will be tuned in. Worldwide, that number is over a billion. This year's game will be broadcast on CBS.
Director Mike Arnold will be calling the shots on his first Super Bowl. Arnold says like the players, this is a pinnacle in a director's career. During regular season games, he usually has 15 different cameras to choose what to show. For the Super Bowl, though, that number increases to close to 60.
Many of the extra cameras will be used for ancillary shots, but all will have video tape rolling for replay. Arnold says while he'll try to treat it as "just another game," he know that it's clearly not. It is, after all, the Super Bowl!
