Ads Now Allowed At Indiana Horse Racing Tracks
(UNDATED) - Jockeys at Indiana’s two horse-racing tracks will be allowed to put ads on their uniforms for the first time.
Indiana horse racing rules have always banned any advertising except for the Jockey Guild logo. Horse Racing Commission Executive Director Joe Gorajec says after discussions with the guild and the track owners, the state will loosen the reins.
Ads are limited to 32 square inches on each pant leg, 24 square inches on the top of boots and leggings, ten square inches at the small of the back, and six square inches at the neck. Jockeys can also put their names at the neck of their shirt if they want. Track stewards can still set local rules, and can disallow ads on grounds of poor taste.
