Broken Bracket?

If you’re anything like me, you’ve already tossed away a number of your NCAA Tournament brackets and come to terms with your losses.

Or maybe you're doing well overall so far. Though I don't see a middle ground in this year's tournament series. You're either doing well or you're not. Most of the people I know are in the latter position.

Out of the four brackets I filled out this year, only one bracket remains in good shape. That being the bracket where I chose teams I thought could possibly upset higher seats but didn't necessarily expect to happen. Of course, this was just for fun. I obviously didn't believe it would come to fruition.

This weekend proved to be a time for a number of upsets, the biggest shock being number 11 George Mason overcoming number three (defending champions) North Carolina, 65 to 60. Another interesting upset happened when Number 13 Bradley took out number five Pittsburgh, 72 to 66. And of course, there was number seven Georgetown defeating the number two Ohio State Buckeyes, 70 to 52.

That means the Big Ten is out of the tournament; teams head home to prepare for next year. And Indiana University - Bloomington begins its search for a new head basketball coach. What's next for Mike Davis? We'll just have to wait and see.

Overall, Connecticut is still in it to win it, so maybe there's hope of resurrecting one or two of my other brackets so that I can claim an overall victory.

I'm not holding my breath.
