Purdue Cruises Past Appalachian State

Last updated on Friday, November 16, 2018

(CHARLESTON, S.C.) - The No. 23-ranked Purdue Boilermakers cruised past Appalachian State 92-70 in their Charleston Classic match-up.

Carsen Edwards scored a game-high 25 points and racked up 17 of those points in the first half. Ryan Cline added 21 as Purdue shot over 54 percent from the field and knocked down thirteen 3-pointers.

The Boilermakers improve to 3-0 and will play Davidson today at 6:30pm for a spot in the tournament finals.

Switching to Purdue football, head coach Jeff Brohm emphatically denied rumors that he was leaving to become the next coach at the University of Louisville.

"Completely false and, once again, complete speculation," Brohm said of the rumors. "I don't know how else to answer that. It caught me off guard as well. I think I'm an open book. I communicate with my coaches, my players, my administration, and there's completely no truth to that."
