(CHARLESTON, S.C.) - In a battle of top-25 ranked teams No. 16 Virginia Tech rallied past No. 23 Purdue 89-83 in the Charleston Classic Championship Game.

Hokies' senior guard Ahmed Hill scored 18 of his 23 points in the second half, including a pair of 3-pointers that sealed the victory of VT. Teammate Nickeil Alexander-Walker had a team-high 25 points and was named tournament MVP.

For the Boilermakers, Carsen Edwards scored a game-high 26 points and added seven assists while Evan Boudreaux came off the bench and added 18 points.

"The good thing is that it's early and we can work on this before we get into Big Ten conference play," Edwards said on the loss and what he said was late breakdowns.

The Boilermakers are 4-1 and next host Robert Morris on Friday.
