Colts Fall To Patriots In Foxborough

Last updated on Friday, October 5, 2018

(FOXBOROUGH, MA) - Tom Brady moved into elite company as he and the New England Patriots defeated the Indianapolis Colts 38-24, in a game that not as close as the score indicates.

Brady became the third quarterback to reach 500 career touchdown passes, joining Brett Favre and Peyton Manning. Brady's 500th TD was his third of the game, a 34-yard connection with Josh Gordon.

Brady went 34 of 44 for 341 yards with three touchdowns threw the air and a 1-yard rushing score as well. He had two interceptions but neither were on him as receivers bobbled passes in the air.

For the Colts, it was their eighth straight loss to the Patriots and their third loss in a row. The offense once again relied heavily on Andrew Luck's arm as he threw 59 passes just days after throwing 62 against Houston.

Luck completed 38 of those passes for 365 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.

"We're not going to win consistently until we learn how to get out of our own way," Luck said. "That's not taking anything away from New England. They were the better team, it was self-evident. But we're going to have to learn how not to lose if we want to give ourselves a chance to win."

With T.Y. Hilton out of the game it was tight end Eric Ebron who benefited the most as he hauled in nine catches for 105 yards and two touchdowns.

The Colts fall to 1-4 and now have 10 days to prepare for the New York Jets.
