Colts Fall In Overtime To Texans, 37-34

Last updated on Monday, October 1, 2018

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - A gutsy call by Frank Reich backfired as the Indianapolis Colts lost in overtime to the Houston Texans 37-34.

The Colts faced 4th and 4 from their own 43-yard line in overtime when Reich decided to go for it resulting in Andrew Luck bouncing a short pass to Chester Rogers and turning the ball over on downs, eventually leading to a 37-yard game-winning field goal for Houston.

"We're not playing to tie," Reich said afterwards in defense of the decision. "We're going for that 10 times out of 10. That play has just got to work."

Reich's decision was fully supported by the locker room despite the result.

"I love the call 100-percent," Andrew Luck said. "I did not get the ball to Chester to make the play and I'm sick about it."

Luck went 40 of 62 for a career-high 464 yards with four touchdowns while Adam Vinateri made NFL history as made a 42-yard field goal right before halftime to move past Hall of Famer Morten Anderson for most made field goals in history.

The Colts have a short week as they visit the arch-rival New England Patriots on Thursday night.
