(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indiana Pacers and head coach Nate McMillan agreed in principle on a contract extension that will keep McMillan with the team through the 2020-2021season.

McMillan was entering the final season of his original three-year contract and led the Pacers to a 48-34 record last season and were the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference before being eliminated in a seven-game first-round series against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

McMillan is 90-74 in his first two seasons with Indiana after serving three seasons as the team's associate head coach under Frank Vogel.
