Malik Hooker, Clayton Geathers Return To Colts Squad

Last updated on Friday, August 3, 2018

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - On Thursday, the Colts got both of their starting safeties back as both Malik Hooker and Clayton Geathers were activated from the physically unable to perform list.

Geathers played in only five games last season due to neck issues and underwent offseason knee surgery while Hooker, last year's first-round pick, tore both his ACL and MCL in Week 7.

Also on the Thursday, the Colts announced the signing of undrafted rookie offensive guard Nick Callender. The signing comes a day after veteran guard Jack Mewhort unexpectedly announced his retirement at the age of 26.

The news of the Mewhort retirement also reared an ugly statistic for the Colts: they no longer have a single player from their 2013 or 2014 draft classes left on their roster.
