(SANTA MONICA, CA) - Victor Oladipo took home the NBA's Most Improved Player Award last night at the NBA Awards.

The Pacers' All-Star beat out Houston's Clint Capela and Brookyn's Spencer Dinwiddie.

"I want to thank the Pacers organization for believing in me and what we could accomplish this past season," he said in his acceptance speech. "My teammates, coaches, training staff, I can't thank you enough for making me a better player from the first day I arrived. An individual may win an award, but it I shared with many because they all had a part. This is only the beginning for us. The best is yet to come."

Oladipo becomes the fifth Pacer to win the Most Improved award and was already named to Third Team All-NBA and First Team All-Defensive earlier this offseason. He set career highs in points (23.1), rebounds (5.2), assists (4.3), steals (a league-leading 2.4), field goal percentage (.477) and 3-point percentage (.371) and led the Pacers to the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.
