Despite Season Ending Loss, Pacers Keep Heads Up High

Last updated on Monday, April 30, 2018

(CLEVELAND, OH) - The Indiana Pacers gave LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers all they could handle but in the end it was James and the Cavs who are advancing to the second round as they won Game 7 105-101.

James delivered another dominant performance, 45 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and four steals while Tristan Thompson, getting his first start of the series, racked up 15 points and 10 rebounds.

It was James' third game of the series where he scored at least 44 points and he acknowledged the Pacers pushed him to the limits.

"I'm burnt right now. I'm not thinking about Toronto right now until tomorrow. I'm ready to go home. Can we? I'm tired. I want to go home."

Victor Oladipo and the Pacers had no reason to hang their heads as they gave the Cavaliers all they can handle. Oladipo led Indiana with 30 points and 12 rebounds while Darren Collison added 23 points.

"If y'all still don't respect the Indiana Pacers now, I have no respect for you," Oladipo said in postgame. "Nobody thought we would be here. Not one person but us in the locker room. I feel like we've earned our respect from everyone."

He reflected on the season and said there are bright days ahead for the Blue & Gold.

"It's been a phenomenal year. I left it all out there; we left it all out there. It was an honor to play alongside those gentlemen and I look forward to growing with them in the future."

The Cavaliers will now take on the top-seeded Toronto Raptors with Game 1 on Tuesday.
