Colts Sign Two Free Agents On Tuesday

Last updated on Wednesday, March 21, 2018

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts had their most active day of free agency on Tuesday as they signed two free agents and brought back one of their own.

The Colts signed wide receiver Ryan Grant to a one-year, $5 million deal and offensive lineman Matt Slauson to a one-year, $3 million deal.

The team also re-signed cornerback Pierre Desir to a one-year deal.

Grant's signing ends a wild free agency period for the 27-year old where he originally agreed to a four-year, $29 million deal with the Baltimore Ravens but the deal was nullified after the Ravens said he failed a physical.

The Ravens subsequently signed Michael Crabtree, who was released after the initial agreement with Grant. Grant passed a physical with the Colts and joins T.Y. Hilton and Chester Rogers.

Slauson spent the last two seasons with the Chargers and has also been on the Bears and Jets. The 32-year old has played guard and center and was a starter for Los Angeles last season for the first seven games before going on injured reserve.

For Desir, he was on his way to a career year in 2017 before suffering a torn pectoral in Week 13.

The Colts also reportedly met with wide receiver Cameron Meredith. Meredith is tendered by the Bears but he could be signed to an offer sheet and Chicago would have five days to match.
