(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - A day after getting his first start of the season the Indiana Pacers waived guard Damien Wilkins on Sunday.

The 37-year old Wilkins, who hadn't been in the NBA since the 2012-13 season, became one of the feel good stories around the league. Wilkins had 11 points, two rebounds, an assist and a block in his 22-minutes of play in Saturday's win against the Bulls and said he knew that was his last time as a member of the Pacers.

"If I'm being honest, I kind of knew already," Wilkins told the media at Sunday's practice. "I knew yesterday (Saturday) around two o'clock in the afternoon. It was a long day as I found at that news before I came to the gym and then to get to the gym and find out I was starting, I didn't know what to make of it all. I just know I didn't want that game to end."

Wilkins harbored no ill will and said he is hoping this isn't the end of his NBA career.

"This short time with the Pacers has been an unbelievable experience. I wanted to finish this year playing and that's not over with yet."

The Pacers are feeling good after their 39-point rout of the Chicago Bulls and are hoping to capitalize on their momentum as they get another crack at Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks tonight. The Pacers lost 122-101 in Milwaukee just last Wednesday and had difficulty slowing down the Bucks' All-Star as he scored a game-high 31 points and 10 rebounds.

One big difference from that game to this game is the Pacers have Victor Oladipo back in the lineup.

Pacers-Bucks tips-off at 7pm.
