No. 3 Purdue Holds Off Indiana 74-67

Last updated on Monday, January 29, 2018

(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - The Purdue Boilermakers did just enough to get past their arch rivals and earn their record 17th straight win as they topped Indiana 74-67.

Isaac Haas matched a career-high with 26 points while Vince Edwards added 19. Both Purdue seniors combined for 45 points and 12 rebounds as the Boilermakers won their 12th consecutive conference game, keeping pace with Virginia as the only power-five schools still unbeaten in league play.

"It's pretty cool to hear about that kind of stuff," Haas said afterwards. "I think our guys are really mature and they do the things they are supposed to do by keeping the focus and understanding it's an everyday grind. You have to come in and work every day."

For the Hoosiers, Juwan Morgan scored 24 points and added 7 rebounds while Robert Johnson scored 21 points and added six boards and three assists.

"I think we played well enough and hard enough as a team," Johnson said. "But just disappointing. At the end of the day, we've just got to try to find a way to get better."

The Hoosiers have dropped two straight games and three of their last four and will look to get back on the winning side of things on Tuesday when they visit No. 13 Ohio State while the No. 3-ranked Boilermakers will try to keep their record winnings streak rolling on Wednesday when they host Maryland.
