Miami's Short Bench Comes Up Big In Win Over Pacers

Last updated on Thursday, January 11, 2018

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The short-handed Miami Heat were too much for the Pacers to handle as they topped Indiana 114-106 and snapped the Blue & Gold’s perfect homestand.

With four players out due to injury the Heat with an eight-man rotation and seven of those players scored 11 points or more.

Goran Dragic led Miami with 20 points and nine assists while Hassan Whiteside racked up a 16 point and 15 rebound double-double. Miami's three bench players (Bam Adebayo, Tyler Johnson and Wayne Ellington) each scored 15 points as the Heat shot over 53 percent from the field and knocked down 13 3-pointers.

The Pacers were missing Myles Turner due to an elbow injury and watched the short-handed Heat put up 38 points in the first quarter. Victor Oladipo filled the stat sheet with a game-high 26 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals but Indiana shot an abominable 1-for-18 from beyond the arc.

The Blue & Gold get back to work on Friday when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers.
