Revamped Pacers Rely On New Faces To Cut Down Nets

Last updated on Thursday, October 19, 2017

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The new-look Indiana Pacers put on an offensive show in their regular-season debut as they topped the Brooklyn Nets 140-131.

Eight Pacers scored in double-figures, with Victor Oladipo leading the team with 22 points while Myles Turner and Darren Collison each scored 21.

"We have speed that can get the ball down the floor and create open opportunities by Victor pushing," Nate McMillan said after the game.

Indiana had 102 shots in the game, hitting 53 of them for 52-percent from the field.

Despite the big game offensively, everyone seemed to know they have to improve on the other side of the ball.

"I'm very, very happy we got this win," Thaddeus Young, who had a 17 point and 11 rebound double-double said. "It gives us something to piggyback off and we have to go into the film room tomorrow and work on that defense because we gave up way too many points."

The Pacers are back in action on Friday night when they host the San Antonio Spurs.
