Colts Center Ryan Kelly Will Undergo Foot Surgery, Miss 6-8 Weeks

Last updated on Friday, August 18, 2017

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The injury bug continues to ravage the Colts as they have now lost center Ryan Kelly for up eight weeks as he is set to undergo foot surgery on Friday.

Kelly had sat out of practice to see if rest would help heal his foot but with no progress occurring he and the team opted for surgery to repair a bone defect in his foot. Kelly's timeline is reportedly between 6 to 8 weeks, meaning he could miss the entire first month of the regular season if not more.

The Colts are already without Andrew Luck as well as both starting safeties in Clayton Geathers and Malik Hooker. Hooker, who played in Sunday's preseason game against the Lions, has missed all of practice this week due to a shoulder injury.
