Pacers Back In Playoff Race With Win Over Raptors

Last updated on Wednesday, April 5, 2017

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Pacers reclaimed a spot in the playoffs as they rallied from 19 points down and topped the Toronto Raptors 108-90, overtaking Miami for the eighth spot in the East.

Paul George put up an All-Star level performance with 35 points and 10 rebounds while Lance Stephenson made his presence known in his return to the Fieldhouse for the first time since re-signing with Indiana. Stephenson came off the bench and scored 12 points, but his final score drew the ire of the Raptors. With 3.3 seconds remaining and the Pacers up comfortably Stephenson laid the ball up for an easy score and was flanked by angry Raptors players as he jogged down the court.

"There's a way you play the game and a way you don't and that was disrespectful to the game," Toronto's DeMar DeRozan said afterwards. To his credit, Stephenson apologized after the game, saying he got caught up in the moment. "I'd like to apologize to the Raptors. I didn't mean no harm. The crowd was chanting me on and I just wanted to do it for the fans."

Jeff Teague scored 20 points and had six assists while Thaddeus Young notched a 15 point and 11 rebound double-double.
