NFL Hall Of Fame Game Cancelled Due To Field Conditions

Last updated on Monday, August 8, 2016

(CANTON, OH) - “Who’s ready for football?” Not the NFL apparently as last night’s Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio was cancelled after the field was deemed ‘unplayable’ and considered a safety hazard for players.

The Colts and Packers were supposed to kickoff the NFL preseason but field conditions were called in to question hours before kickoff as issues with paint used on the field created a 'concrete-like' surface in some areas.

Colts owner Jim irsay met with the media after the decision to cancel the game was made and said, "It's something that never should have occurred. We all know a lot of people came out for the game, all 32 of our owners are responsible and the commissioner as well. We are going to make sure this doesn't happen again."

Fans attending the game were issued full refunds.
