Paul George Spoils Kobe Bryant's Final Game In Indianapolis

Last updated on Tuesday, February 9, 2016

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - In his final game at the Fieldhouse, Kobe Bryant struggled most of the night but had a memorable fourth quarter.

Bryant scored 11 straight points to give the Lakers a late lead but Paul George and the Pacers got the last laugh as PG-13 hit the game-winning bucket in the final minute to give Indiana the 89-87 win over Los Angeles.

George finished with 21 points and nine rebounds while Myles Turner put up a 14 point, 13 rebound double-double.

Bryant led the Lakers with 19 points while Joseph Randle tallied 15 points and 19 rebounds.

Bryant, who hasn't always received the warmest of welcomes in Indiana, was showered with cheers and 'Thank you' chants, something that resonated with the Lakers star after the game.

"These fans were always very tough. It's as close to a college basketball atmosphere as you can get. They've always been pretty tough on me here and to get a 'Thank you' chant from them, it was pretty special."

Bryant's teammate, and former Pacer Roy Hibbert did not play in the game as he sat out with a sore ankle he suffered over the weekend.

The Pacers have won two games in a row and will look to close out their final game before the All-Star break in similar fashion when they host the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday.
