(UNDATED) - The Indiana High School Athletic Association announced its sectional pairings for the 41st annual girls basketball State Tournament during Monday’s IHSAA Tournament Selection Show.
Sectional play begins Tuesday, February 2 at 64 sectional sites with 16 sectionals per class.
In Class A Sectional 57 hosted by Clay City, the host Lady Eels (15-7) drew 3-14 Eminence in the opening game of the first round at 6 p.m. Tuesday. North Central (12-9) meets 11-10 White River Valley in Tuesday's second contest.
Bloomfield and Shakamak drew first-round byes. The Lady Cardinals (15-5) face the winner of Clay City-Eminence in Friday's first semifinal at 6 p.m. Shakamak (3-17) will play the winner of Tuesday's second game between North Central and WRV.
The sectional championship game is set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The sectional champion advances to Class A Regional 15 at Southwestern (Shelbyville) Saturday, February 13.
In Class 2A Sectional 47 at North Knox, the five-team sectional will have only one first-round game Tuesday, at 6 p.m. The host Lady Warriors (17-5) drew 2-17 Linton-Stockton.
Eastern Greene, Mitchell, and South Knox drew byes and will play Friday. The Lady Thunderbirds (11-11) face the host Lady Bluejackets (6-13) at 6 p.m. South Knox (6-15) takes on the winner of Tuesday's first-round game in Friday's 7:30 p.m. semifinal.
Friday's winners meet for the sectional championship at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The sectional champion advances to Class 2A Regional 12 at Paoli.
