IMS Fence To Be Replaced During Track Renovations

Last updated on Thursday, September 10, 2015

(Indianapolis, IN) - The iconic fence at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, climbed by the likes of Tony Stewart and Helio Castroneves after victories is no more.

As part of the $90 million dollar renovation more than 500,000 square feet of the catch fence has been torn down. It will be replaced with a newer, thinner fence as IMS attempts to use the renovation to blend new technology with the history.

The renovations are expected to be completed in time for the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500.
