Pacers Pick Center And Shooting Guard In Draft

Last updated on Friday, June 26, 2015

(Brooklyn, NY) - At the NBA Draft, the Indiana Pacers surprised some folks as they went big when they selected center Myles Turner from Texas.

The seven-foot, 239 pound Turner was the Big 12 Freshman of the Year in his only season with the Longhorns.

After the pick, Frank Vogel talked about what Turner brings to the table. "He's a great prospect, we think he can contribute to our team right away but he even has more upside to grow and be a big time player in a couple of years."

The Pacers also selected shooting guard Joseph Young from Oregon with their second-round pick. Young was the Pac-12 Player of the Year last season and averaged over 20 points per game for the Ducks.
