James Hinchcliffe Undergoes Surgery After Crash In Indy 500 Practice

(Indianapolis, IN) - It sounds like a broken record but yet another crash occurred at the Speedway, this time it was James Hinchcliffe who wrecked when his suspension got loose on turn three causing him to slam into a barrier.

Hinchcliffe did not get out under his own power and was transported to Methodist Hospital where he underwent surgery on his upper thigh. He is listed in stable condition and is expected to be ruled out of the 500.

In the 10th practice of the Indy 500 Sage Karam was the fastest as he clocked in at 227.831 MPH. Pole winner Scott Dixon was in second, J.R. Hildebrand third, James Davison in fourth and Tony Kannan rounded out the top five.
