Colts Will Not Re-Sign Reggie Wayne

Last updated on Friday, March 6, 2015

(Indianapolis, IN) - It’s a sad day for Indianapolis Colts fans, as the team announced this morning they will NOT re-sign veteran receiver Reggie Wayne after 14 seasons with the team.

Drafted by the franchise in 2001, Wayne hauled in a total of 1,070 passes for 14,345 yards and 82 touchdowns. Wayne was also a member of the Colts team that won a Super Bowl in 2006.

Wayne missed the 2nd half of the 2013 season following an ACL tear during a primetime game against the Denver Broncos. He competed in 15 games during his final season with the team, but injuries and age limited his productivity to just 64 catches for 779 yards and only 2 touchdowns.

Wayne was a 6-time Pro Bowler and played more games for the franchise than any other player.
