Boilermakers Knocked Out Of NCAA Tourney

(Louisville, KY) - Purdue lost a heartbreaker in overtime to #8 Cincinnati 66-65.

Trailing by seven points with 48.5 seconds remaining the Bearcats forced overtime with a 10-3 run. Cincy's Troy Caupain hit a layup as time expired in regulation to send the game to extra time.

For Purdue, A.J. Hammons led the Boilermakers with a 17 point, 10 rebound double double. Purdue shot a miserable 4-26 from three points range (15.4%).

The loss snaps Purdue's fourteen game winning streak in NCAA openers.

Day two of March Madness action will see the final two Indiana teams take the court. The #10 seeded Indiana Hoosiers battles the Shockers of #7 Wichita State in Omaha at 2:45pm.

Meanwhile, Horizon League Champion and the #13 seeded Valparaiso Crusaders look to play spoiler when they battle the #4 Maryland Terrapins in Columbus at 4:40pm.
