NFL: Irsay For 6 Games, Fined $500,000

Last updated on Wednesday, September 3, 2014

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Colts owner Jim Irsay has been suspended six games, and fined $500,000 by the NFL after pleading guilty to operating a vehicle under the influence.

Irsay is banned from club and league functions, as well as from his well-known social media account.

Hours after Irsay was suspended, the Colts found out they definitely won't face wide receiver Wes Welker this weekend, as the Broncos star was himself suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the NFL's policy against performance-enhancing drugs. According to published reports, Welker tested positive for a banned amphetamine.
